Know Your Business (KYB)



Credas’ KYB solution seamlessly links KYB & KYC in one platform enabling you to run checks on commercial property buyers in just one click. Our KYB Reports include easy-to-follow visuals of global group structures which show the ultimate holding company as well a full list of all significant shareholders, PSCs and directors. You can run reports on over 400 million private and public companies across over 200 countries and territories.

The reports are compiled from a mixture of official government registries, such as Companies House in the UK, industry-leading corporate data partners, court filings, banks, trade payment data, stock exchanges and international sanctions lists and presented as one unified online report that can also be downloaded.

How to run a KYB Report?


1. To run a KYB check, go to the ‘Companies’ tab within your portal. Within the companies tab, you will be able to see any previous KYB checks and run a new check. 






2. To run the new KYB report, click the 'Add new' button below.




3. To find the company you wish to run a KYB Report on, choose the companies country before then filling in one of the three options - Company name, Company number or Company address. 






4. If you searched via the company number, you will be taken straight to that companies KYB Report.
If you searched via the companies name or address, you will be provided with a list of possible companies as can be seen in the above image. Click on the company you wish to run a check on.
 





5. You will be presented with a pop-up confirming that you understand you will be charged for the KYB report.






6. You will now be presented with the KYB Report split into seven tabs - Summary,  Directors/Shareholders, Group Structure, Financials, Event History, Business Sanctions & Charges. You will also be able to download a full PDF of the KYB report.



 




Understanding your KYB Report

 

Summary

Within the ‘Summary’ tab you will be presented with key information about the company including it’s status, previous company name, key financials, the ultimate holding company and more.







Group Structure 
Within the ‘Group Structure’ tab you will be able to see the full family tree of the company on a global scale. From the ultimate holding company all the way to associated companies.
 



Financials
Within the financials tab, you will be presented with the up to 5 years of financial data including the balance sheet and the companies profit & loss.

Please note the information available will depend on the company, the size of the company and it’s filing date.
 





Event History
You will be able to see all previous filings and event history in the ‘Event History’ tab. 
 




Business Sanctions
The report includes comprehensive international corporate PEPs, Sanctions, and adverse media screening within the ‘Business Sanctions’ tab.

This will help you identify potential risks associated with business partners or clients, such as affiliations with sanctioned entities and individuals on international watchlists, as well as reports of any penalties imposed by regulatory bodies.


The 'Summary/Associations' page gives you an overview of the companies sanctions, and associated individuals and businesses with PEP & Sanctions.


The 'Sanctions/Enforcement' tab goes into more detail about the companies specific sanctions, and will provide you with evidence and the source of the Sanction information.





Charges

Within the 'Charges' tab you will be presented with any charges to the company. This includes loans associated with the company and any mortgages. 




Directors/Shareholders
Within the ‘Directors/Shareholders’ tab, you will be able to see a full breakdown of current & previous directors, secretaries and shareholders associated with the company.

You will be able to run checks on the individuals directly from this tab.
This is explained in more detail below.






Within the Shareholders tab, you will be able to see shareholders alongside the percentage of shares they hold to help you decide who to send checks too.




Sending a KYC check


To run checks on an individual directly from your KYB results, click the ‘Action’ button of an individual.
 




Within ‘Actions’ you have two choices:


1. Send journey - This option allows you to send a journey to the individual to complete, such as Identity | Address | International Screening.


2. Run check - This option allows you to run a manual check on the individual, such as an Address & Mortality data check.




Option 1: Send journey

1. If you select to 'send a journey' to an individual, the journey wizard will appear. 


2. Choose the journey you wish to send the individual. (The journeys available to choose from are dependent on the journeys available on your portal).




 


3. You will then be asked to add the contact details for the individual and choose how you wish to send the invitation to the client. You can choose to add an email/SMS or both. 




4. Click ‘create invite’, and the invitation has now been sent to the individual to complete.
 



Option 2: Run Check

1. If you select 'Run Check', you will be presented with our invite wizard.


2. Here you will be able to select which manual data check you wish to complete on the individual.
