Supporting Documents

If you have issued a journey that contains supporting documents, the 'Supporting Document' module will always appear as pending validation, as can be seen below. Credas does not verify supporting documents, and you will need to manually review this document referring to your organisations own internal policies.

To manually review the 'Supporting Document', click 'Review'. You will then need to review the document(s), and provide a pass/fail and a comment. If the journey in question, such as Safe Harbour Vendor, has requested multiple documents, please ensure you scroll down and review all documents otherwise you will not be able to save the result.

Resubmitting supporting documents

If you are not satisfied with the supporting document uploaded by the individual as part of a journey, as per your organisations internal policy, you can request for the individual to have another attempt. To request that the individual has another attempt at providing you with the supporting document, you will need to resubmit the supporting document by following the steps here.

Example journeys that include supporting documents

Example journeys that include supporting documents are:

  • Safe Harbour Vendor - Safe Harbour vendor journeys will provide you with supporting documents. These documents are two linking documents to the property being sold, and you can read more here on which documents you can accept to meet Safe Harbour standards.
  • AML journeys - Some of our AML journeys will request a proof of address document as a supporting document if the individual in question lives overseas or has referred on the UK Address & Mortality. This will be mentioned in the journeys description, and will be down to your organisations own internal policies on what proof of address documents you should accept.
  • Companies House Director Verification - Our Companies House Director Verification journeys will request a supporting document if the individual has not scanned their e-chip in a passport. The supporting document will be a document from Companies House acceptable 'Group B - Option 2' documents. To learn more about supporting documents as part of the director verification journeys, and which ones you should accept, please read our guide here.

Manually uploading a supporting document

If the journey you have issued to the individual does not contain a supporting document step, but you wish to manually add a document to the individuals profile, as per your organisations own internal policies, you will need to manually upload the document by following the below steps. Please note, if you are manually uploading this document, you can only upload one document.

An example scenario of where you may wish to manually add this document if the individual failed their address & mortality/name check on the identity document and you wish to add the corresponding evidence (such as a proof of address document or marriage certificate), to keep all the information together in one place. This document can also be downloaded in the PDF.

To manually add the document, simply click the upload button on the 'Supporting Documents' module that appears under 'Available checks' on an individuals profile, as can be seen below.
