Abnormal Document Features

What does abnormal document features mean?

If an Identity Document has flagged due to abnormal document features within the detailed report, this means that the document could not be successfully verified due to noticeable anomalies, which can indicate potential fraud or issues with image quality.

This could be due to reasons such as poor image resolution, bad lighting, distortions on the document or visual alterations due to laminates.

Whether you decide to accept this document would be down to your internal compliance policies and we recommend speaking to a manager or a compliance officer if you are unsure.

You may wish to request a re-submission by following the steps here allowing the individual to provide a new image. For the highest chance of success, and using one of the most robust forms of digital identity verification, you may wish to advise to the individual that they complete the resubmisson using the Credas smartphone app which can be downloaded on app stores, and captures their passport and it's e-chip via a NFC scan.
